Jackson Hole Writers offers a limited number of scholarships for the conference registration. Jackson Hole area high school students are eligible through an application process. Use the contact form to request a scholarship, whether you are in high school or at a Wyoming university or college. In your request, tell us why you are requesting a scholarship, your level of commitment regarding coming to the conference, an outline of your writing accomplishments thus far, and at least one reference with contact information. Full scholarship students will also receive three, fifteen-minute, one-on-one critiques. (Extended critiques are not included in the scholarship, but can be purchased). We do not provide housing for scholarship recipients, but we will work to find you lodging.
If you are at the University of Wyoming, please chat with Andrew Fitch, Creative Writing Program Director, about us. In the past we have had UW faculty as faculty, including Nina Swamidoss McConigley and Alyson Hagy.
Scholarships are not based entirely on need, but rather a combination of need and commitment to writing. There are also volunteer opportunities during the conference but requires a substantial time commitment and does not include critiques.
We also offer half-price registration for students enrolled in MFA programs at other campuses. This offer also does not include critiques.
