Linda is a true native of this magical valley and grew up on a cattle ranch just north of Kelly, Wyoming. The passion for writing hit her when she was in her mid-forties, after attending her first Jackson Hole Writers Conference. She found others who share her passion and currently serves Jackson Hole Writers in many different capacities. Linda says, “It’s a delight to bring people together from all aspects of life who love to tell stories!”
Connie moved to Wyoming in 1983. She earned an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Montana in 1991. Her fiction, nonfiction, and poetry have appeared in numerous journals and anthologies. Currently, she is working on a collection of poems about her family in both the social context and the landscape of the West. To keep her in the writing life, she works as a bookkeeper. She is the recipient of two Wyoming Arts Council Literary Fellowships. She lives in Wilson with her husband Rich, nine chickens and an ancient frog.
Nanci grew up in Connecticut, England, and Texas with a book in one hand and the reins of a pony in the other. A reluctant grown-up, Nanci is now the stage manager for Jackson’s Off Square Theatre Company, a riding instructor, and reading fairy to book-hungry children. She writes middle-grade novels (Swing Sideways, HarperCollins, 2016; Georgia Rules, HarperCollins, 2017) and is active with both the Jackson Hole Writers and the Society of Children’s Book Writer’s and Illustrators. The mother of two grown sons, Nanci lives in a historic meadow cabin in Jackson Hole with assorted horses and dogs. She is dedicated to getting books into the hands of the homeless through her Literacy for Hope Project.
Melissa is an Elementary School Librarian by day and an aspiring author by night. Much of her childhood was spent on the shore of Lake Ontario or in the Adirondack mountains of upstate New York, but her family moved West when she was 11 and now Wyoming has her heart. She holds an undergraduate degree in Creative Writing from the University of Montana, a degree she pursued with love but not much hope for a career. After attending the JH Writers Conference for the first time in 2014, Melissa committed to making writing a part of her life again and is thrilled to have found a community of writers to help keep her accountable. On days off, she can be found seeking out family-friendly adventures in the mountains with her husband and two young daughters.
